Phantom devices

Postby Rcastle » Sun Sep 19, 2010 3:05 pm

I have 3 devices and 2 access points, one on each phase.
MobiLinc picks up the 3 controllers and 2 phantom controllers (neither have device numbers of my access points).
There are no other devices in the home.
I have cleared all & reset all on smartlinc & when that didn't work reset the smartlinc. Even with no scenes entered the 3 devices & 2 phantoms show up.
I deleted mobiLinc, reinstalled it & got the same results.

How do I get rid of the phantoms?

Hi Robert,

To delete any device or scene from showing in MobiLinc, go to My Devices or My Scenes and perform a left to right swipe over the device or scene name. Tap delete and MobiLinc will hide that device or scene. To restore the hidden devices or scenes go to My Settings, tap the sync button, and select Download All.

Thanks, that hid them.

Got any ideas why those ghosts reside within my MobiLinc?

Hi Robert,

MobiLinc will only write out devices that the SmartLinc tells it about. So the question is, why does the SmartLinc have these devices in its internal link database. I was unclear as to what you've tried, did you perform a factory reset of the smartlinc? I know there are several ways to reset the device, but did you go through the factory reset proceedure (unplug, hold set for 10 seconds, plug in and continue holding set?).

If you did, then I am at a loss as to why the SmartLinc would continue to report out these two devices. Just to double-check, is either phantom device your access point?
