Expanding Resource Manager to Include Demand Response

How about expanding the capability of Resource Manager to include Demand Response? For example, one could enter the typical DR period of the day (2:00pm to 7:00pm) and assign devices to be shut off or reduced during that period. The only other requirement is the ability to input the DR date(s) - those are typically announced by the utility 24-36 hours in advance.

Hi GuitarBuilder,

Thanks for the suggestion. It might be better to expand the Timer options to allow setting the device OFF between certain time period instead of ON between different time ranges.

The 2pm - 7pm time frame should be viewed as an over-ride period; anything that was accidentally left on would be turned off, in addition to items already scheduled to go off.

I guess the core of the request involves being able to enter specific dates for when this should happen. My utility for example only does this for 15 week days during the summer at this time.

Understood. Thanks for the example. We are collecting different views of RM to see where we should be focusing our time on what to bring to the plug-in and what to leave to custom programming in the ISY. This is an interesting use case, thanks for posting it.

We'll keep this under consideration as we work to determine how best to modify and bring new features to the RM plug-in.
