Latest version took away today view and now wants $?

Did the latest version really take away my today view widget and it is trying to charge me now?
My widget will not load anymore.
This is quite shady if you have taken away a feature and now charge for it.
Say it isn't so.

It's not so.
MobiLinc Connect users still have access to the Today View widget, just like before.
Are you using iOS 9 beta? If so, the Today View has serious issues and will not load complex widgets like MobiLinc. The iPad iOS 9 beta works. We're hoping the change they made to the iPad makes its way to the iPhone in the next iOS 9 beta release.

OK that is good to hear.
No running the latest ios8. It flashes like it will load, then goes black, then flashes like it is going to load again and then says unable to load. It never works anymore. Not once.

Ok, this is a different issue then.
There's an issue in 4.5 if you have a lot of items on the Today View or if you have scenes with more than 10 devices in the scene.
This is fixed in 4.6 that we're submitting to Apple this week for approval.
