OM v4.0 and IP Cam Plugin ??

Postby TheSidewinder » Mon Mar 03, 2014 9:09 am

Am relying on a faint memory here, so apologies if this is off base......

I originally bought OM v3.x and that 99 cent (or $1.99) plugin for it to control IP Cams.

That was a very limited plugin, so I downloaded the stand-alone program, "MobiLincCam". That stand-alone program has the control strip for Set Points, e.g.

Now, I thought I had read somewhere in the recent flurry of info for OM 4.0, that the features of that stand-alone MobiLincCam program would be included in the new OM 4.0, or words to that effect.

Is that correct?

It doesn't seem to be, since, after the 4.0 update, that same limited 99 cent plugin is still installed in OM. The MobiLincCam does still work fine, it just takes extra steps and a screen switch to get to it.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Hi TheSidewinder,

Just to clarify, the IP Cam plug-in is $9.99 and will come with all the features from the separate MobiLinc Cam app if you are on the iPhone. If the iPad, you do end up getting all the reliability updates and camera support from the separate cam app (all under the hood changes), but the UI is the same as it was under 3.x.

There simply wasn't enough time to fit the camera app UI into the iPad UI in OML. This is something on our to-do list still.

I have an iPad, yes.

OK, I'll just have to keep using the separate MobiLinc Cam app, no problem.

Looking forward to its integration fully into OM though.

Thanks, Wes, and good job to you and the dev team! :)
