Garage Door Opener does not work on iPad

I recently had to replace my iPad due to a swelling battery. I was able to successfully copy the Mobilinc database from my iPhone to my iPad. Everything worked well except the Door Status does send a signal to the ISY, like the iPhone does. After some thought I have some memory of a discussion I had several years ago about adding this functionality.

I can't remember why the iPhone works but the iPad doesn't for the same database ?

Hi satwar,

How are you activating the Garage door on the iPhone vs. the iPad?

Please let me know both the iPhone and iPad so I can offer suggestions:
Tapping an icon?
Which icon? The relay or the sensor?
Tapping a scene icon?
If Scene, what's the scene definition?

Wes

Well I migrated the MobiLinc database from the iPhone to the iPad. The mobilinc dashboard on the iPhone has Door Status only device, which when touched open and closes the door. The Favourites on the iPad has a Door Status only device, but doesn't move the door when touched.

I monitored the ISY database and noticed that when touching iPhone dashboard icon both the Door Relay and Door Status change to "ON". When I touch the dashboard icon again it closes and the Door Relay and Door Status change to "OFF".

When I touch the iPad Favourite Door Status icon nothing happens on the ISY. I have no idea why touching the iPhone Status icon works but it would be nice to have both iPhone and iPad work the same way. I seem to recall you were going to look into developing a widget for Opening/Closing and displaying Door Status.

I have two small programs running on ISY :

Door Query (fixes problem with garage door relays staying On after door is Closed)
If
Status 'Door Status' is Off
And Status 'Door Relay' is On
Then
Wait 10 seconds
Set 'Door Status' Query
Set 'Door Status' Off
Else -no actions

Door Control
If - no conditions
Then
Set 'Door Status' Query
Wait 3 seconds
Set 'Door Relay' On
Wait 3 seconds
Set 'Door Relay' Off
Else- no actions

satwar,

I've got this behavior (touching the status item on the iPad) on the to-do list. We rolled it out on the iPhone last year but haven't added it to the iPad yet. If you have the Today View for MobiLinc configured, you should be able to add the status element to the today view and tap that for status/control of the garage door on the iPad's Today View.

Your programming looks good and will support tapping the relay from the main MobiLinc HD iPad app to activate the garage door.

Yes, when the Door Relay icon on iPad is touched it will open the garage door, but it won't close the garage door once it is open. Have to use my iPhone to close the door.

If your ISY is doing the query correctly where you see the status of the relay flip back to off, then tapping the relay again (to make it come on) will close the garage door.
