I just have the relay and KPL in the scene.
If you have to tap more than once, then the IO Linc is likly set to Momentary A mode. Try playing around with the different modes in the Admin Console for the IO Linc.

While on the subject of Garage Doors and Home Automation:
Most of us have cars with a programed button for the garage door and sometimes have the vehicle parked outside of the garage. This exposes risk of someone having access to the house with just a window break of the vehicle. I have implemented the use of an Insteon Appliance link on the Garage Door Opener and have it on a schedule to disable every night. I am thinking about doing away with the vehcile button coding all together and just using the Mobilinc app.
