Any recommendations on a wifi webcam to be used with Mobilinc HD and ISY994i?

Hi Kentinada,

I can't make specific recommendations, however, many MobiLinc users use cameras by Sharx and FOSCAM.

Whichever camera you end up with, make sure that it supports RTSP.

Thanks, Wes. I don't see RTSP or real time streaming protocol mentioned in any description of the Foscam FI8918W or FI8910W on Foscam's website. Does that mean they don't support it? Is it called something else?

Hi Wes, I asked on Amazon if the Foscam FI8910W supports RTSP and the answer was "This camera streams real time." Do you think this one will work?

Hi Kentinada,

The FI8910W is an older model camera that MobiLinc supports. It doesn't support RTSP like the newer models do, but that's ok. It supports MJPEG for video streaming which MobiLinc still fully supports.

All of FOSCAM's current HD line support RTSP. One that we have in the lab that we test against is the FI9826W.

Hi Wes,

I just got a Foscam FI9821P webcam that supports H.264 video. I bought the plug-in for Mobilinc HD but I am having trouble getting it set up through the IP Camera Settings dialogue. I picked Foscam as the Camera type, filled in the IP address for the camera (it's 192.168.1.101 which was assigned by DHCP), local port is 88. I also filled in the UserName and PW. When I hit Next, it says "Received JPEG Image Success! Would you like to confirm MJPEG settings?" I say Yes and I see a picture from the webcam but it says at the bottom "Feature Disabled by User" with Pick Another Profile available. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Kentinada,

Make sure to also enter in the RTSP port. The default is 554, but check the camera setup to make sure.

These HD cameras do not support MJPEG. Only JPEG and RTSP are supported. On the MJPEG page, please select "Do Not Use".

Thanks, Wes. I'm not getting very far. I can't find anything in the manual or the IPCam Client about the RTSP port. If it supports H.264, it supports RTSP doesn't it? In the network settings on IPCam Client, there is a HTTP port of 88, an HTTPS port of 443, and an ONVIF port of 888. I tried 888 but that didn't work. I tried 88 which it took but not sure that's really right. Then when it goes to the Pan/Tilt setup, it says using Profile 1 but I can't control the pan/tilt. Not sure what to do. Ideas?
