Is there a Step by Step start-up guide to setting up iLinc Pro?

I'm really at a loss here.

Hello LincMe,

Let's see if we can get you started. I'll start off basic since I'm not sure what devices or what you've tried so far.

Harware Requirements:
- PowerLinc 2414U or 2414S
- 2 Access Points
- 1 or more Insteon/X10 devices

Software Requirements:
- SDM software. See link to download SDM on the main page.

PC Configuration:
- Make sure the PowerLinc 2414U is plugged into the USB port of the computer with SDM installed and running on it. If you have the 2414S device, plug it into a serial port on the computer running SDM.
- In the SDM window type 'dm' to show the input console.
- Type 'isResponding' and verify the response is True. If False, something isn't connected correctly, or the PowerLinc isn't responing for some reason. Try unplugging and plugging in the PowerLinc again.

iLinc iPhone/Touch Configuration:
- Under settings, enter in the IP address of the computer running the SDM software and connected to PowerLinc.
- Enter in the port number of 9020
- Go back to the main page of iLinc and go into the Insteon/X10 Modules section to add in your Insteon or X-10 devices.

See http://www.mobileintegratedsolutions.com/utilities/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6&p=6#p6 for more detailed information on setting up the SDM software and confirming that it working with your PowerLinc.

Please post back if you have any questions.

Aha, no wonder. I misread it. I have the 2412N.

Is there any way this software can work with my hardware?

Unfortunately no, iLinc doesn't support the SmartLinc device. I'm working on incorporating the Universal Devices ISY 99/26 Insteon controller into iLinc. After I release that version I'll explore integrating iLinc with the SmartLinc device.

Any update on supporting the 2412N ? There are a few of us who have bought them but don't care for the built in iPhone support, versus your iLinc Pro.

Hi sandwedg,

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, I don't care much for the built in iPhone support of the 2412N. I'm still working on integrating iLinc with the ISY 26/99 device. Right now, that's taking up much of my spare time. Once I can get the ISY 26/99 supported, I'll look into the 2412N and see if I can get iLinc to support it as well.

Stay tuned...
