Router Help

Postby dwsutton » Sat Apr 11, 2009 1:23 pm

I have the server operating on the network but I am using a router and noticed -

Note: If the SDM server is behind a firewall or router, remember to forward the new port to the SDM server to continue to use iLinc outside of the wireless network.

Any general tips to do this as my phone is not finding the network .....

Thanks

Hi David,

Each router is different as to how the router forwards data to an internal server.

Which router do you have?

You can access most routers by opening a web browser and typing in http://192.168.1.1 and providing the user name and password admin/admin.

Once into the router configuration there is a configuration page where you can specify a port or range of ports to forward to the SDM server. The default port for the SDM software is 9020.

I have a trendnet TEW-432BRP

Besides SDM which is fuctioning correctly it seems, do I have to have any other software active? As my x10 control program I have always used Home Control Assistaint which seems to cause a conflict if left running and I have to exit that for SDM to function correctly.

I am getting a message when running Ilink pro -

Failed to connect go to the settings and configure the server IP and port info. Im using to 9020 port...... possibly missing something somewhere and usually Im pretty capable at trouble shooting :) When I run "active ports" it is showing 0.0.0.0 as the local IP address ......

Duh - when I looked at the port with the grey 9020 as the port I assumed it defaulted to that port - when I entered 9020 and save it , it worked correctly - thanks !!
