MobiLinc via VPN

I have MobiLinc Pro on my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy 4 Active). When I am at home it works fine over WIFI talking to my ISY994i.

I want to use MobiLinc when I am not at home so I have set up the built in VPN client in Android to talk to my VPN server (PPTP) at home. When the VPN is up I can ping the ISY from the phone. Within MobiLinc I can also turn on and off devices and scenes. However the current status of devices and scenes is not displayed, so I can't tell from remote if things are on or off.

Any advice on how I can get the status of devices to show up in MobiLinc over the VPN? Should I expect this to work?

I know that there is a cloud service offered that both the MobiLinc application and the ISY can reach out to use to talk to each other, but I am not interested in paying a monthly fee for the service.

Thanks,

Rex

Hi Rex,

We might have a fix for this. Can you confirm that only the status is affected? Meaning, you can use your VPN to toggle devices ON and OFF OK?

We have identified and addresses a possible issue with the subscription channel that might explain what you are seeing. This fix will be in our next release.

Yes, I can confirm that over the VPN I can turn devices on and off. My problem is with being able to see the current status of devices (and scenes).

Thanks.
