I understand there is a set of Smart Home Skills that does not require the "tell mobilinc", is that correct?

We find the tell mobilinc very cumbersome. I thought there was a different api that would allow me to say "open garage door" instead of "tell mobilinc open garage door".

That would be a huge improvement if it is possible... I wish Echo had a simple command alias so it could look in a table and use the more complete command. I have seen this requested many times, but nothing yet that I am aware of...

Hi Jay,

The smarthome skill from Amazon is really limited which is why we initially opted to roll our own skill. We are looking at supporting the smarthome skill as well, but I don't have any announcements today.
