Foscam IP camera

The Foscam camera sold in the Mobilinc store has the following issue. It disconnects intermittently and reconnection is not possible without power cycling the camera. This is a known problem on the Foscam forum with no clear solution or firmware upgrade that addresses the problem. A work around with Mobilinc using an appliancelinc to power cycle the camera when it disconnects works but one shouldn't have to go to such lengths and expense to compensate for a defective product. If you have a solution, I'd appreciate seeing it posted.

Hi keepersg,

We've seen the reports on the Foscam site as well, but this is the first report (your report here) for this line of cameras as sold through the MobiLinc Store.

The reported problem on the Foscam site is looking like the camera is susceptible to power fluctuations. Please try two things:

1. Upgrade the camera to the latest firmware. Foscam has released a new firmware version for these cameras since our initial stock purchase.
2. Plug the camera's power supply into a surge protector and not a direct wall socket to protect the camera's circuitry from surges.

About how frequent would your camera enter into this condition? After these two changes did the condition improve?
