Insteon HD Camera

Postby sccestaro » Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:26 am

Hello,

I have a new Insteon HD Camera used with a ISY994i. I am using the Mobilinc Cam app. It works in jpeg mode with profile #5. I however cannot pan or tilt from my iphone. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Two things:

- You'll need to enter in the RTSP port (same as the port number) in the camera's settings in MobiLinc.
- For Pan/Tilt try all the profiles listed until you find the one that works with your model.

Thanks Wes,

Question. Can't seem to access the camera on cellular. Do I need to port forward an opening in my router for that? Also, I purchased cam viewer as a separate app after Mobilinc HD. Can I access the camera within the HD app or will I always need to use the viewer app?

Thanks!

Hi Steve,

Yes, you'll need to portforward your camera's port through the router. See this top-level post for more information: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=2423

You can access your camera in MobiLinc HD, but you'll need the MobiLinc HD Camera plug-in under MobiLinc->Plug-Ins. The Cam Viewer app is a separate/standalone camera app.

I got the app to work remotely on cellular but, the only aspect that's not working in pan, tilt, zoom is the zoom feature. I'm currently using profile #5. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the follow-up! Yes, the INSTEON camera does not support zoom.

Hi Wes,

I am using the Foscam setting for my camera. Can you tell me why when I access the camera through the mobile app, it takes so long to connect whether I am using it wired or wireless? It eventually does connect but, takes at least a few minutes. I notice that I can operate pan or tilt before the video stream comes in.

Thanks!

Hi there,

If this is a recent HD Insteon Camera purchase, please be aware that the recent HD cameras are using a firmware from FOSCAM that appears to have a broken RTSP stream. When we've tested MobiLinc/VLC against the current HD cameras we see the same issue due to bad RTSP data.

My recommendation would be to contact Smarthome to report the issue and ask about a firmware update.

Hi Wes,

I am having the same problem with MobilLinc, however when conntecting to the RTSP stream directly from VLC it works perfectly. What is the problem you are seeing with it ?
