IP Cameras for Android?

First of all, your MobiLinc Pro for iOS and Android is AWESOME! In fact, I will not switch to a phone OS that does not have a MobiLinc Pro version for it (it is my most used app)

Anyway, I am switching soon from iOS to Android and was wondering if you had a timeframe for the IP Camera support (or plugin) for Android? Or, is it already available?

Thanks in advance.

Hi tim2u,

Thanks for your support!

At this time we do not have a time frame for IP Camera support on Android. We are currently focused on bringing MobiLinc Connect to MobiLinc for Android.

Hello,

I agree with Tim2u - this is a killer app! Do you have any update on the status of the IP Camera plug-in for Android?

I am a little confused on the priorities here. Are there features that MobiLinc Connect will offer over a traditional dynamic DNS service besides perhaps a properly trusted SSL certificate?

Thank you in advance,
Ron

Hi Ron,

No timeline yet for IP Cameras.

MobiLinc Connect isn't like a dynamic dns. With a dynamic dns you still have to manage your router and network to port forward external traffic to your ISY controller. With MobiLinc Connect you don't have to open ANY holes in your firewall. Nor do you have to use fixed IPs like you do with direct connection.

With our service the ISY maintains a connection with our servers. Then when you use MobiLinc, MobiLinc logs into our servers and "finds" your ISY. Our servers handle and authenticate the connection and traffic so that all communication to your ISY is encrypted and authenticated with your MobiLinc Connect username and password using industry standard protection techniques.

Because the ISY and MobiLinc know where to find our servers on the internet you don't have to worry about the ISY's IP or your external IP address changing. Nor do you have to do anything to your router or firewall to route traffic through to your ISY. It just works.

Any updates on this? Do you guys ever plan on making a camera plugin for Android. This is the difference between me going to the pro version or allowing this trial to lapse.
