Hi museo,

Currently there are no public APIs available for the NEST. However, it looks like other companies like Control4 are integrating with the NEST. We were considering reaching out to the NEST folks to see what it would take to allow MobiLinc to control the NEST.

Nothing new. I don't think Nest has released a public API for their Thermostat yet.

There has been some reverse engineering going on. But a snipper that pulls from the web page they have or manipulates the web page may be a possibility.

Anyone know of a Mobilinc compatible thermostat to handle radiant heat?

We could definitely reverse engineer it, however, as soon as NEST releases a firmware update to change/block access, we'll be forced to continually invest time into a non-supported interface. We really have to wait and see what their plans are for official 3rd party support.

Not sure what you mean by radiant heat. MobiLinc supports INSTEON thermostats (Venstar and SmartHome brand).

Thanks ajiuo,

We've seen that project out there. The problem is that it's based on an undocumented API. NEST could close that off at any point since they don't officially support 3rd parties.

I would encourage anyone who wants to see Nest integration with anything.. to email customer support and request that they make their API's public.
