PLC to ISY/PLM migration

Hi Bret,

What is the behavior over 3G? If you connect iLinc over 3G you must use your router's external IP address and port where iLinc asks for the SSL IP and Port, and port map your ISY in your router.

What error message do you receive?

Hi Wes,

I have HTTP set to the local IP address and HTTPS set to the external IP address. What's happening is that when I don't have a wireless connection, Autoconnect does not work (connection timeout) over the 3G. I have to set iLinc to explicitly use HTTPS and then I can connect over the 3G.

HI Bret,

Check one thing for me, when you are connected over 3G and you have auto connect enabled, verify that when you receive the connection timeout under "My Settings" it says "Auto (HTTP)".

Also verify that your iPhone is reporting 3G or EDGE at the top of the screen.

What is your default startup screen set to?

Hi Wes,

Sorry for the slow response. Things are working correctly for me now. I think the problem was at my end with the external IP Address changing without me noticing. I've set up a domain with DynDNS so I don't have to keep track of that manually any more and it's working well.

Glad to hear it's all working for you now. Yes, the Dynamic IP settings can bite you as it has me. I've got a DynDNS account as well. No external IP issues after setting that up.
