unable to connect to https

I am having difficulties. I am able to connect to isy by http. I am able to connect to my https site by Internet Explorer. When I try with ILinc I get a message "unable to connect to **.**.***.*/ no internet connection detected . I believe I have my router properly and can confirm the port forwarding works. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi wacvmd,

Verify the following:

- Verify your internal (192.168.xxx.xxx) ISY IP address is entered in My Settings for the HTTP field and port.
- Verify your external router IP (or dyndns name) is entered in the HTTPS (SSL) field and SSL Port. The default port number is 443, is this the port that your are forwarding to your ISY?
- Verify that the Connect Method is set to Auto or HTTPS. If you set the connect method to HTTPS you will force iLinc to always connect using the HTTPS (SSL) IP and Port.

Once you verify the information tap "Sync with ISY" to test the connection.

One thing to keep in mind is that there are some routers that do not allow you to do loopback routing from inside your home. So for example, some routers do not forward data to an internal IP if the source of the request (your iPhone on Wi-Fi) is an internal IP address. For your test disable Wi-Fi on your iPhone and force a 3G connection.

I'm confused. The ssl.http address the isy gave is different than the external router address. The http address the isy lists is the one I can log into with a browser. Any suggestions.

Hi wacvmd,

This may be reaching into ISY support that you'll need to ask the guys over at Universal Devices...but from what I understand, if you enable internet access on the ISY it *should* report back the external IP it detects as the one you would enter into iLinc and port forward on your router. I would tend to stick with the IP address that your router thinks is external rather then the ISY external IP, but try both and see what happens.

Wes, Thank you for an excellent product. Very well done. On my last post I confused the internal and external ip address of my router. the external address does work however the ILnc program listed my http address with a /. at the end. When I removed the forward slash and . it connected right away. Thanks
