New to ISY994 and MobiLinc...trying to create scene

Good Morning,

I am new to the home automation world. I am starting with a ISY994i and Orchestrated Mobilinc. My first two devices are an Insteon light bulb and a motion sensor. The light bulb is on a floor lamp in our family room. I want the light bulb to turn on between sunset and sunrise (or set times), but only when motion is detected.

I believe I have everything setup correctly on the ISY since I can control the light bulb (on/off/dim). Do I have to create the scene on the ISY first?

Thanks for the help and sorry for the basic question. But I was not able to figure out how to create the scene.

Hello,

For this scenario, you wouldn't have to create a scene unless you wanted two or more devices to respond at the same time.

Scene creation is done through the ISY's Admin Console interface from a PC/MAC.

If just the one device is all you need to turn on in response to motion and since you have the Orchestrated MobiLinc app, please do the following:
- Go to Devices and select your device.
- Scroll down the device details page and select "Resource Manager"
- Turn on the Night Settings and setup.
- Assign your motion detector to the Night Settings so that the motion and darkness indicator from the motion detector is considered when turning on your light.

Thanks I will try these this weekend. One of the things I really love about the new mobilinc is the dashboard, I will need to take screenshots of how I have it configured so I can get it back the same way after reinstalling mobilinc.
