Support for 2441TH

Postby warrenh » Tue Apr 24, 2012 11:40 am

Wes,

Are there plans to support the new 2441TH Thermostat? Would this be pending ISY/99 support first?

Thanks,

Hi Warren,

Yes, the ISY must support this device first. The good news is MobiLinc likely will not need to change to recognize the new SmartHome Thermostat. That depends on a couple of factors, and we'll watch it when ISY-99i support becomes available, but we don't anticipate needing to make changes to support the new thermostat.

If what I'm hoping happens, that is, the ability to switch which sensor is the Master, then a small change may be required.

Hi Andy,

Can I get you to clarify your request? What do you mean by Master sensor?

This thermostat supports 2 wireless remote thermostats. Since they're wireless you won't be able to talk to them with the ISY without waking them up, but the main thermostat (2441TH) which is hardwired like a normal thermostat displays the local temperature and the temperature on the two remote thermostats. There is a button called Master which you push to change the HVAC/heat control based on which sensor. If the wireless remote thermostat 1 is the master then it's temperature will control when heat/cool comes on. I'm hoping that the ISY will have the capability to control that Master selection.

If you read my post in the UDI forum/Smarthome section titled "New Insteon Thermostat" Brian H has posted links to the FCC database with photos and manuals for both thermostats

Ah, ok. Thanks Andy.

Whatever the ISY ends up supporting we'll follow suit and support the same functions as well.

Wes,

Just installed my new 2441TH today and MobiLinc Pro v1.1.5 on my Android phone doesn't seem to recognize the device as a thermostat. It shows up on the device list, but not as a thermostat. It looks like ISY added a new device type for this thermostat, "[05.0B] (2441TH) TempLinc Thermostat". I can control and monitor the 2441TH just fine through the ISY, but no luck on my phone. I don't know if it is something I am doing or if this device just needs to be added to the MobiLinc App.

Thanks,
TheWizard

Hi TheWizard,

Your guess is correct, the Android version of MobiLinc does not know about this thermostat yet. We are working on an update that will include support for the newer thermostats.

Does the iOS version of MobileLinc recognize the new 2441th yet?

Hi Chris9999,

Yes, the current iOS version should treat the 2441TH like the Venstar thermostats.
