MobiLinc conects via WiFi locally but not 3G

Postby alanz » Sun Feb 13, 2011 12:08 pm

I recently reinstalled Mobilinc Pro (2.17.00) from iPhone 3g to iPhone 4. The MobiLinc syncs and operates normally using WiFi locally, but will not connect from a remote location using 3G or WiFi (error received = could not connect to server). ISY 99i Pro v 2.7.15

I have verified the local and server ip addresses and port settings. Port forwarding is enabled and set to the ISY IP and port 443 as recommended.

When I try to enable internet access via ISY java admin console, I get a "failed enabling internet access" error.

The router is also password protected, and I do not see a place in the settings to enter a login or password for the router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Al,

Can you confirm that the HTTPS settings for MobiLinc are the IP and Port (443) of your router? This should be the external internet IP address assigned to your router. To verify the external IP address assigned to your router, go to http://www.whatismyip.com/

Also, please verify that the connect method under My Settings in MobiLinc are set to Auto.

To verify you have the router setup correctly over 3G, use safari on your iPhone to navigate to your ISY to test if port forwarding is setup correctly. To do this, launch safari, and type into the address bar "https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where the x's are the IP address assigned to your router.
